Kendal Leggett – Solutions Specialist (Aurizon)
Kendal Leggett has worked within the rail freight industry for 15 years, prior to working in safety related positions in Mining and the University setting. The roles have ranged from managing Safety, Fitness for Work and Wellbeing programs for a national Rail Transport Operator. More recently, Kendal has worked in Rail Engineering Projects to incorporate Systems safety assurance principles, along with Change, including Human Factors and risk management strategies for the safe, effective and sustainable introduction of rail technologies, such as Automatic Train Protection technology. Kendal has a Masters in OHS & Ergonomics from Latrobe University and Bachelor in Psychology from the U.S (OCU), and is currently the WA representative for the HFESA Board.

Event Synopsis:

In this presentation Kendal will present findings from her Master’s Thesis which involved a systematic review of Human Factors impacts of Automatic Train Protection technologies on Train Driver driving methodologies, and share recent experience of integrating applicable learnings as part of the Systems Safety Assurance approach within a rail technology project. |
